Micro Lesson 070: "B Minor" Soul R and B Groove
Welcome to...
"Micro-Lesson 070"
This Micro Lesson takes a look at a busy Soul RandB riff in the key of "B Minor."
This very groovy riff involves the use of both seventh quality chords as well as, octave double-stops that connect the first half of the phrase, (first two measures). In the second half of this groove we find a melodic run along with a couple of chord punches through a minor and suspended chord.
The rhythmic duration applies a collection of sixteenth-notes with eighth-notes. It's a straight forward groove guitar idea overall. But it will apply some fast lines that should be executed carefully.
The best advice would be to memorize the entire idea and work it up with a metronome. Enjoy!
