The Advantage of Guitar Perfection...
To me, "Guitar Practicing Perfection" has a lot to do with being extremely 'tuned into' the sound of a musical phrase. What the phrase does rhythmically, the note-durations, the dynamics and even right down to which guitar phrasing devices are required (to have the sound come out exactly like it's supposed to) are all critical to the perfection of the part.
Will the phrase in question need: slides, bends, hammer-on's, or pull-off's? Will it need specific fingerings in order to have it function smoothly across the fingerboard? These are all important questions that need to be audited when learning any melodic idea.
In the video session, we'll practice this idea of "Guitar Practicing Perfection" by checking out some nice melodic blues phrases. The goal will be that of working on them to determine the most subtle details. Every element of their execution will be considered. By doing so, we can move toward really polishing them up, and take the concept of this principle over to every other musical idea we practice.
