Micro Lesson 166: "E Minor" Electric-Fingerstyle Idea
This Micro Lesson organizes an arpeggiated fingerpicked idea performed on electric guitar in the key of "E Minor."
The fingerstyle line employs arpeggiated chords starting from a low open "Em." The open "Em" chord adds on an "F#" creating an "Emadd2" chord in measure one.
Measure two has the 5th chord of the key "Bm" appear with a guitar lick based upon a 16th-note triplet feel. The "C Major" appears next in measure three. Here, the "C Major" begins slightly different, with a 'double-plucked' outer octave and played with a patterned picking idea. Another 16th-note triplet idea is applied to complete the measure and bring in the final chords.
In measure four, the progressions turnaround phrase appears using the "G Major" and "D Major," arpeggiated chords. Take your time with the fingerings and work at memorizing the phrases prior to building speed. Enjoy!
