This micro lesson covers a Jazz-Blues Lick in "D Mixolydian"
This Micro-Lesson steps into the world of Jazz and Blues with a swingin' lick out of Mixolydian Mode. This lick works great for covering the sound of a "D7" chord type. Starting up at the 13th fret of second string, we hear interesting chromatic ideas right from the start. Major and Minor 3rds follow the line across a vertical and horizontal run taking us into 9th position. The lick wraps up pushing Blues ideas around the Diminished fifth and Minor 3rd. It's a fun jazzy sound that doesn't take long to develop. Enjoy!
