Micro Lesson 119: "A Minor" Country-Rock Riff
This Micro-Lesson runs through a Country-Rock Riff in the key of "A Minor."
The riff begins with a small group of pick-up notes from the up-beat of three. The first measure outlines the sound of an "A" power-chord moving into a, "Cadd2."
Chords of "G5," and "Gmaj.7" are arpeggiated in measure two. And, a series of quick power-chord punches operate across the third measure. Passing through "D5" to "E5" to "A5" "B5" and "C5." The chords resolve through a second inversion of the "G Major" with a "D" in the bass.
Have a go playing this riff both with and without a flat-pick. Work slowly until the chords flow easily and you memorize the entire part. Enjoy!
