The 12th Annual Thanks Jimi Festival was held on May 1st in historic Wroclaw, Poland. The festival takes place every May Day in the beautiful Old Town Market Square. It was founded by Leszek CichoĊ„ski both to honor Jimi Hendrix, and to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Guitar Orchestra, which it has done several times over.

This year, the festival participants topped their own previously set record when more than 7, 300 guitarists played "Hey Joe." The thousands of mostly young guitarists also played other Hendrix classics such as "Little Wing" and "Red House," and were joined by Steve Vai, Michael Angelo Batio, Eric Burdon, Chris Jagger (Mick's brother), the members of Uriah Heep, and many of Poland's finest guitarists.
