Lesson 009 Music Reading
Lesson nine "Music Reading" is the start into a new technical area of guitar music reading introducing multiple position reading studies.
**DISCLAIMER**
This guitar music reading course is not designed to be used as a "beginners" reading curriculum.
If you have no prior music reading experience on the guitar, it is strongly advised to first study the Creative Guitar - Introductory Guitar Program, as well as, the Intermediate Guitar Program.
(1). Part one, of lesson nine Music Reading, presents a multiple position reading exercise in the key of "C Major" that shifts between the open position and involves playing a melody laterally along the neck up as high as the 5th reading position. The time signature is 3/4.
(2). Part two, introduces lateral reading in the key of "F Major" with an exercise based in "Common Time," (4/4) that spans across the neck from the open reading area up to the 5th position.
(3). Part three, presents a reading exercise in the key of "D Major" with notes located across the positions of open to 5th. The piece is felt in "Compound Meter," and operates using the feel of 6/8.
(4). Part four, introduces a reading exercise in the key of "G Major" with notes located across the open to 5th position. Scale tone range is established from the low 6th-string "Open E", up to the high 1st-string "A" at the first string's 5th fret.
(5). Reading Exercise: The multi-position reading summary piece for lesson nine is a 16-bar melody in 3/4 time that blends melodic phrases from the "Open Position," up to the 5th position within this lessons key signatures (C, F, D, G).
