Glastonbury Wants to Drop Metallica from Line-up...

Metallica’s upcoming appearance at Glastonbury is proving controversial, though at least for now not because of any question over whether or not their music is suited to the music festival. Rather, its the bands position on hunting.

A new Facebook page has popped up, asking Glastonbury to ditch the band from the line-up due to the announcement that frontman James Hetfield is to narrate a new US documentary series, called ‘The Hunt’, about bear hunting.

Metallica’s lead singer James Hetfield seems to be a big game hunter and promoter”, says the protest organizers. “We believe this is incompatible with the spirit of Glastonbury and brings its good name into disrepute”.

Glastonbury and Metallica have so far not commented on this latest controversy, but Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich did recently suggest how the band might deal with naysayers on the night of their performance, telling The Guardian: “Jay Z came out and played ‘Wonderwall’, right? So maybe we gotta go out and do our rendition of ‘Wonderwall’. We’ll start with ‘Wonderwall’ and we’ll take it from there”.

At this time, Metallica is still set to headline Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, June 28. But, what do you think... should bands be kicked off of gigs due to their interest in hunting?

What other possible reasons should be given for kicking bands off of a gig?
